Are you stuck in a productivity rut, grinding away but never quite moving the needle? What if I told you a simple shift in your routine could skyrocket your output and leave procrastination in the dust—no gimmicks, just real results from the diary of an entrepreneur who’s running (literally) around the world, every single day?
Hi, I’m Kevin Brittain, the bloke behind the Runpreneur Challenge—now aiming for a mind-boggling 4,292 days of consecutive run vlogging, 40,075km circumnavigating the world barefoot, and a mission to raise a life-changing £1,000,000 for children’s causes. Today, I’m cracking the code on what really made my latest day so crazily productive, and how you can harness the same tactics for yourself.
The Surprising Secret: Change Your Environment, Change Your Game
Let’s be honest—I don’t always nail a perfect day. Some days are, frankly, a slog. But recently, I had a day when everything just clicked. Why? Because I was changing my environment constantly
Here’s what went down:
Kick-off Zoom: Powerful team product meeting to smash banging issues and make rapid progress together.
Unexpected Delay: My next meeting hit a delay, so I pivoted—ran a work errand, and blitzed through nagging phone calls in the car (finally clearing those forgotten voicemails!).
On the Move: Rather than wasting time, I turned a car journey into a mobile meeting, then hammered out deep work in a café while my colleague wrapped up property business.
Back-to-Back Pivots: From office to town and back, I made every moment count, sliding straight into a decisive sales campaign call to cap the day.
I realised changing my physical environment every couple of hours kept my brain crisp, creative, and free from boredom or burnout. No time for mental fatigue—just constant, flowing action.
Productivity Hack: Two-Hour Chunks & Environmental Sprints
If you’re home-based like me, flexibility’s a double-edged sword. It’s all too easy to drift into the sofa (hello, Netflix). But by slicing my workday into 2-hour focused blocks—each in a different spot—I kill procrastination and lock in that elusive flow state.
Try this:
Online? Move to Café.
Café done? Into the car for calls.
Next? Hit a different room or a co-working space.
Each shift resets your mind and keeps productivity levels soaring.
Why Does This Matter? (Beyond My Own Hustle…)
Every tip I share is more than just diary musings—it’s a cornerstone of my fight to change lives. My personal mission is crystal clear: run the distance of the world, every day, and raise £1 million to save children’s lives.
The more productive I am, the bigger the impact I can deliver. And when you adopt these strategies, your ripple effect—the value you provide—multiplies too.
