Ever feel like you’re up to your neck in stress and anxiety, and just when you think you’re on top of things—bam!—something else hits? If you’ve ever had one of those emotionally draining days, you’re not alone. I have them too, and today I’m pulling back the curtain on exactly how I cope, reset, and get back on track—because staying down is simply not an option on my journey to run around the world and raise £1,000,000 for children’s futures!
For those new to my mission, I’m Kevin Brittain and this is my daily diary—1,754 consecutive days of run vlogging and counting. I’m circling the globe barefoot, aiming for 40,075km, pushing past 4,292 days, and fighting to raise £1M for children’s causes. Why do I keep lacing up my shoes, even when the world feels heavy? Because every view, every share, every run saves lives. That’s why I can’t stop—and neither should you.
Let’s be honest. No one is immune to emotionally exhausting days. Just yesterday, I felt utterly overwhelmed—swamped with urgent issues, back-to-back stress, and a difficult, anxiety-inducing conversation with a dear team member. Nothing catastrophic, but that constant buzz of stress, overwhelm, and not-knowing was demoralising. The worst part? Worrying about things outside my control. Sound familiar?
Even as someone who’s faced down marathon after marathon, I’m not immune. Here’s the truth: we all worry—some of us just worry about less.
So how do I get back up, reset, and make sure I don’t let today’s baggage weigh me down tomorrow? It boils down to my personal coping mechanism—a ritual that has changed my life, kept my mind strong, and turbo-boosted my resilience.
Every single vlog is outside, rain or shine. There’s magic in nature—the sound of birds, the scent of countryside air, the ever-changing sky. Plenty of evidence shows that being in nature heals the mind, and for me, it works wonders.
Running is my therapy—in motion. Exercise triggers endorphins, the body’s natural mood-lifters. The better I feel physically, the more capable I am of letting go of stress and facing what’s next.
Speaking my thoughts aloud—even to a camera—works like therapy. Yes, privacy still matters, but just unloading my feelings on the vlog helps me process, let go, and start fresh. Whether I get zero views or a million, I’ve released what’s weighing me down.
You don’t have to run around the world or start a daily vlog. But you do need a ritual for recovery—a proven, repeatable way to leave today’s anxiety behind. It could be yoga, music, an afternoon nap, breath work, or journaling. What matters is consistency.
For me, it’s running, being with nature, and sharing my journey with you.
The mission is bigger than I. Every day, every run, every storey told is a step closer to saving a child’s life. If my journey, my struggles, and my victories resonate with you, please subscribe, like, share or drop a comment—each small action fuels this cause, gets us closer to the £1M target, and helps transform the future for children in need.
Together, we’re running past setbacks, through emotional storms, and towards a greater purpose.
Stay positive, stay happy, and remember: It’s never just about bouncing back—it’s about moving forward, one stride at a time.
Kevin
