What if I told you that doing less could make you achieve more? Sounds mad, right? Let me show you why embracing “less is more” just saved my business—and could transform your life, too.
Let’s talk about overwhelm. Recently, my team and I were deep in the trenches, building our latest product—Digital Operations Director—a tool designed to supercharge productivity in small businesses using real-time data and world-class automations. Sounds brilliant, but amidst all the excitement, we hit a snag.
We found ourselves stretched too thin; every new feature meant more work, more stress, and risked overwhelming our product team and our early users. We were falling behind, even working at full tilt. Maybe you’ve felt that way, too? Like you’re ticking off endless to-dos, but nothing’s moving forward fast enough.
That’s when I paused and remembered the Pareto Principle—also known as the 80/20 Rule. In short, 80% of the results often come from just 20% of the work.
So, what did I do?
I ruthlessly prioritised. We looked at every feature and asked: Is this absolutely essential for launch? If not, it got bumped to a future update. Overnight, we halved the workload for the initial release—focusing purely on what actually moves the needle for our users.
And guess what? Not only did our team breathe a sigh of relief, but our beta customers got a clean, focused product that SOLVES their biggest problems—without all the bells and whistles getting in the way.
Ask yourself:
Are you spreading yourself too thin at work, in business, or even in your personal life?
Which 20% of your efforts are delivering 80% of the value?
Where could you do less, but achieve more?
Trust me, your future self—and your team—will thank you.
Every single day, I lace up (well, not really—doing it barefoot!) and run for one reason: to save children’s lives. The bigger our online community grows, the more lives we can impact. That’s why every subscribe, share, like, and comment helps us raise more money and create more change.
My mission: £1,000,000 for children’s causes, 4,292 consecutive days, one lap of the globe—barefoot.
