How to Beat Entrepreneurial Overwhelm with One Simple Question
Are You an Entrepreneur on the Brink of Burnout? Here’s the 1 Question That Could Save Your Sanity (And Fuel Your Success!)
Entrepreneurial overwhelm is REAL—and if you’re reading this, I bet you’ve felt it. Those endless to-do lists, the pressure to push harder, days when the finish line feels like it’s sprinting away from you…
I know exactly what that’s like—because I’m living it, day after consecutive day, as I take on the Runpreneur Challenge: running 40,075km (yes, that’s the lap of the world!), crushing the 4,292-day barrier, and aiming to raise £1,000,000 for children’s causes. Every single step and every single vlog is a battle against overwhelm…and here’s what I’ve learnt that could shift everything for you.
Let’s get real: Most entrepreneurs are clocking 50-60+ hours a week. And guess what? Our minds are stuck on work even when we’re not officially “on.”
It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started your side hustle, or you’re leading a multi-figure business—overwhelm doesn’t discriminate. I’ve “been there, done that, got the t-shirt”—and yes, I still wander down that slippery slope sometimes. It’s a scary, isolating place.
But here’s the breakthrough: Most advice out there is about “productivity hacks” and “tools”—today, I want to go WAY deeper.
When you feel like stress is winning, ask yourself:
“What’s the single (or one or two) thing(s) I can do TODAY to nudge that needle forward in the right direction?”
Imagine your progress as a dial in a plane cockpit—when overwhelm strikes, the needle’s almost at zero. The trick? Forget your massive to-do list for a moment. Zone in on just one or two things that will actually move that needle. Not the distractions. Not the “busywork.” Just what will really push you closer to your big goal.
I’ll be honest: focusing on one key action a day was a total mindset reset for me. When I’m overwhelmed by fundraising targets, exhausted by relentless running, or anxious about progress, this question is my anchor. Suddenly the weight lifts, because I’ve traded anxiety for clarity.
If you commit to this every day? Here’s what happens:
You feel more in control.
You get a REAL sense of progress (even if it’s just 1% a day).
Anxiety drops. Motivation rises. And your impact multiplies—fast.
It works for running 40,075km. It works for building a business—and it’ll work for you, no matter your journey.
Please—forget perfection. Progress beats perfection every single time. If you can finish just your “needle-mover” every day, it’s a victory. Before long, you’ll see the results compounding: less stress, less overwhelm, and more real movement towards your dreams.
If this hits home, I’d love to hear how you’re using this question in your own journey. Drop a comment, share this with an entrepreneur who needs it, and—if you believe in the mission—join me as I push beyond day 4,292, run the lap of the world, and fight to raise £1,000,000 to save children’s lives.
The more people we reach, the more impact we make. Let’s do this—together.
Stay positive. Stay happy. Let’s move those needles, one day at a time.
