Being Grateful for Your Health: A Runpreneur's Reflection
Hello fellow runners and readers,
Welcome back to another instalment of my journey, documenting consecutive day 1653 of a diary of a Runpreneur. Today, I want to delve into the often-overlooked aspect of our lives: our health. It's astounding how many of us take our well-being for granted, only truly realising its value when we face health setbacks.
Every person is unique, with distinct health metrics. In my world—surrounded by a relatively small, yet growing team—I've become acutely conscious of the impacts that illness can have not only personally but also within a business environment. It's never easy to see colleagues facing ongoing health challenges. But what stands out to me is the disparity in how frequently people experience health-related issues. Some seem to encounter these challenges often, while others remain mostly untouched.
This observation has led me to reinforce the value of gratitude for my own health. I've been privileged to run consecutively for 1653 days, averaging an impressive seven-and-a-half kilometres each day. Yes, I've had my share of illnesses and injuries along the way, but the ability to keep going is something I cherish deeply. Initially, my ambition was to keep running daily until my life’s end, and while I hope this holds true, I'm profoundly grateful for what I've achieved thus far.
We can easily get entangled in the stresses of financial or business concerns, but these are all secondary if we don't have our health. More often than not, health problems are a mismatch of genetics or purely unfortunate timing. As winter approaches, influencing the health patterns of those around me, I'm reminded yet again of how lucky I am to be able to do what I love every day.
For those who are similarly blessed with good health or for those whose loved ones are fit and healthy, take a moment to appreciate it. We often overlook how fortunate we are when we don't have health worries looming over us. And if you notice anyone struggling with their health, offer a helping hand or an empathetic ear. It's what binds us as human beings.
Lastly, if my mission of attempting the ultimate ultramarathon through consecutive days of run vlogging speaks to you—aimed at saving children's lives—consider supporting this journey by subscribing, liking, or sharing. The more people we reach, the more impact we can make.
Thank you for joining me on this ride. Stay positive, stay happy, and let's cherish the health we have while striving to support those who may need that extra bit of encouragement and care.
Until tomorrow,
Kevin Brittain
