Manic Weeks, Zero Burnout: How I Recharge for the Runpreneur Challenge and

My £1M Children’s Mission

Ever felt like your week’s been a whirlwind, spinning out of control, and you barely get a chance to breathe? Stop scrolling—I’ve just barrelled through one of those manic weeks, and I’m about to share exactly how I decompress, recharge, and gear up to crush my bigger mission: running 40,075km, reaching Day 4,292 and, most importantly, raising £1,000,000 to save children’s lives.

If you’re chasing productivity, battling overwhelm, or simply seeking ways to reset and go again, this post is for you.

The Reality of A Runpreneur Week: Barefoot Miles, Business Hustle & Family First

Last week: Edinburgh marathon, a full-on family half-term break, followed by back-to-back sales calls, and onboarding my executive assistant into her new leadership role. On top of that, there were endless client calls, team restructures, and enough admin to make anyone’s head spin. It was, by every definition, a manic, high-stakes week.

But here’s the truth—I’m not doing this for ego, or just business growth. Every single day I lace up (barefoot style!), run, vlog, and grind, it’s to get closer to saving real children’s lives. Your support means everything. More followers = more eyeballs = more donations = more lives changed. That’s what the Runpreneur Challenge is all about.

How I Stop the Burnout Spiral

It’s easy to leave weeks like this on autopilot, but high-performance means actively managing your time and energy. So, how do I recharge without losing momentum? I break down my week using what Dan Martell calls the four time categories: Delegation, Replacement, Production, and Investment.

  • Delegation: Low energy, low impact. Admin stuff, mostly off my plate now (thanks to my new exec assistant).

  • Replacement: High impact, but doesn’t excite you. Leadership tasks—team coaching, restructuring. Crucial, but not where I thrive.

  • Production: The sweet spot! High energy, high impact. Product development, big client moves, sales calls. THIS is where I want to live next week. It’s progress with adrenaline.

  • Investment: High energy, low monetary impact. Family time, running, giving back—these moments keep me balanced and fulfilled.

By assessing where my week’s energy is spent, I know what to dial up, and what to pass on. This week, I shifted loads of admin and leadership to my team, freeing myself up to spend at least 75% of next week in my production zone—where growth explodes.

Why Rest Isn't Optional—It's Essential

Weekends are sacred. For me, it’s football tournaments with the kids and slow family time. Yes, I’ll probably sneak in a bit of work if the energy’s there, but recovery ensures my Mondays start fired up, not fatigued.

And my secret weapon? Running. Each daily run is a detox for my mind—vanishing the stress and letting me reflect, plan, and recentre. It’s the heartbeat of Runpreneur and the anchor to my philanthropic mission.
